  • Head/shoulders rotations
    • standing up, rotate slowly and completely the head within a plane at 45 degree angle with the plane of your body.
    • then, other 45 degree
    • again, starting with looking over your shoulder at 45 degree angle (opposite rotation)
    • again, involving the hands / arms: windmill rotations

  • Gauguin - Matrix exercise
    • same idea as before, but together with partner
    • first, both cut diagonally, using same side, through partner body - it won't work if your energies don't meet at the center of the earth, resp. (opposite rotation) top of the sky
    • second, using Gauguin's form (Where do we come from/What are we/Where are we going): one partner brings energy from far behind to far ahead - through other partner's shoulder. Other partner, after a while, accompanies the first partner's movement with his own (opposite) movement. Contact, but no pressure.
  • Gedan Barai, soft, open-handed, Kihon - forward and backward
  • same energy and steps but with TSGS A-E (A through oneself) both hands stepping forward, TSGS-I both hands stepping backwards (open-hands)
  • Taimyo Kata part I - complete
  • Tenshingoso Kumite - standing up, one hand / both hands / variations
  • catch ball, sitting on the floor
    • roll a small ball on the floor, various ways (TSGS-I, TSGS-O(bowling), TSGS-E(elbow forward))
      Stretch as you go and reach forward, playfully.
    • Then send the ball as you come back rolling - slightly over partner's head
  • catch ball, standing up - like tennis serve / volley-ball smash: let the arm completely unfold to vertical, before releasing the ball (fingers finish pointing forward). Drive the movement from the center / Tanden. The ball should make a nice parabola, ending up precisely at the middle of each other's forehead (looking up).

    • lying on your back, folding / unfolding your body by corkskrewing "heaven" = the horizon over your head
    • same thing with one leg pushing from folded position - crawling on your back
  • step, same feeling - take hanmi, then corkskrew body brings back-foot forward (heaven now is vertically above)
  • same thing, with mae geri
  • maegeri and tsuki (together) stepping, with receiver - same idea, starting everything from the center. Tsuki starts from head-level, like in boxing.
  • tsuki only - do not pull back the hand in front, but wrap your body along extended arm as you bring the other hand forward; both hand movements should spiral naturally. Tsuki now starts from hip-level, like in karate. Hands are opened, and relaxed.
  • same thing with partner holding wrists
  • Denzel Washington's walk
    • walk, fully relaxed, moving left side of your upper body forward as your right foot advances, then right side of your upper body forward as your left foot advances, etc.

  • self-body-acquaintance
    • finding comfortable sitting position, = zero tension. If necessary, then start from lying down.
    • vary around this position, stretching and/or sitting up, always smooth, always back the same way to full release position.
    • All the way to standing up (Feldenkrais way). and back (same).
  • standing up (advanced) Japanese traditional way: from sitting on your heels
    1. getting on to your toes. relax
    2. moving one foot slightly forward. relax
    3. pushing up. relax
    4. both feet parallel. relax
    5. all the way back. relax
  • standing up (advanced) variations: once the whole workflow is figured out and smooth, then
    • repeat, holding out one's hands, as if holding a tray (tea ceremony)
    • take hanmi right from step 1 (traditional martial arts) - as if being pulled forward, from sitting on your heels, by a string attached to your navel
  • Wakame Taiso
    • finding standing up release position (aka. "wakame mode") as per the outcome of the first part (= the turning point between going up and going down, Feldenkrais way)
    • upon partner's push, let body memory exercise: last in first out - as soon, but not sooner, as nothing comes in. all the way back to (standing-up-) release position. and stay.
    • and again, on partner's input.
  • Eiko Dai
    • Eiko means Glory - initially from Eiko no Ken: Sword of Glory
    • cutting sky by pulling (kiri harai) / cutting earth by pushing (kiri komi)
    • imagine zen monastery prayer wheels, which one spins in passing, except here: one above. one below.
    • simulate with your hands above. simulate with your feet below (the wheels, not the push - or actually both). both wheels spin in opposite directions.
    • centering the action in one's koshi, see (and feel) the wheels above and below spin while walking (running) - as if, again, pulled by the navel.
    • free wheels (= forget about them. just follow tanden, "riding the sea of Chi")
